“The Eternal Zoo” Wows Audience at Taipei’s Center for Art and Technology

Last weekend, THE ETERNAL ZOO, envisioned by renowned media artist Yen Tzu Chang, premiered at Taipei’s Center for Art and Technology, Taipei National University of the Arts, captivating audiences with an immersive, thought-provoking performance that merges art and technology to explore humanity’s connection to nature and animals.

Guided by a dancer through shifting thematic chapters on biodiversity, extinction, and preservation, the audience journeyed through layers of experience—expierencing expressive dance, AI-driven visuals, and live percussion and synthesizer music.

This unique multi-disciplinary approach invites viewers to reimagine their perceptions of animals and nature, sparking reflections that continued into a lively post-show Q&A. Overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees described it as “thrilling,” “amazing,” and “unlike anything they had experienced.”

Now, the team is looking forward to taking The Eternal Zoo to a European audience in 2025, expanding it into a full 50-minute piece. We are approaching venues for the opportunity to bring this innovative exploration of human-animal connections to the international stage.
